The American Embassy in the Dominican Republic is a Cabeca Veada reference project that has employed a supply of 18.000m2 panels. This large construction incorporated several types of applications, including exterior cladding, coverings and even stonework.
With exuberance and magnificence, the American Embassy in the Dominican Republic is a remarked example of the great capabilities of the Portuguese limestone Cabeca Veada. The relative uniform background and the brightness of the beige-whitish colours are perfect attributes for exterior large scale projects, since it normally produces serious and stunning projects. The whole embassy used a total of 18.000m2 of Cabeca Veada limestone panels, which were then applied to the exterior of the building, more specifically into exterior cladding, exterior flooring, wall coverings and professional stonework (American eagle). The materials consisted of panels with a considerable thickness, such as 50mm, 80mm and 150mm, with two distinct finishings – honed (mostly used on flooring) and split-face (mostly used for coverings and cladding).
